Total Energies SE, a leading global integrated oil and gas company, and Adani Group, diversified conglomerate with interests in energy and utilities, transport and logistics, materials and mining and consumer food products both within and outside India, have set up Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) to develop and operate city gas distribution networks in India.
The Project will finance the development of city gas distribution (CGD) network in 33 geographical areas awarded by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board to ATGL. The project comprises construction of infrastructure for connecting households, commercial institutions, and industrial users to piped natural gas and compressed natural gas.
NDB’s support will allow the Borrower to mobilize financing for the Project to develop the CGD infrastructure to increase availability and improve accessibility, of natural gas for domestic, transport, commercial and industrial users thereby reducing consumption of more polluting alternative fuel products. Project contributes towards elevating energy efficiency of the regional economy and leads to inclusion of underserved households and small and medium enterprises by enabling access to natural gas as affordable and cleaner fuel.
