The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the New Development Bank (NDB), in consultation and coordination with the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, will convene a one-day knowledge-sharing seminar in Beijing on 23 September 2026.
The seminar will present the results, findings and lessons learned from NDB’s first Country Portfolio Evaluation (CPE) for China, covering NDB’s engagement in China from 2015 to 2024. It will provide an opportunity to reflect on NDB’s contributions to economic growth, social inclusion, infrastructure development and sustainable development in China.
Overall, the objectives of the seminar are to: (i) facilitate knowledge sharing and multi-stakeholder dialogue on experiences, good practices and lessons learned from NDB’s China portfolio; (ii) explore opportunities for stronger partnerships among China, the NDB and other development partners through knowledge exchange, case presentations, South-South cooperation and evaluation capacity development.
The seminar is expected to bring together around 200 high-level participants, including representatives from the Government of China, NDB Management and staff, provincial authorities, project stakeholders, development partners, international organisations, academia, research institutions and the private sector, as well as representatives of BRICS countries, BRICS partner economies and other NDB member countries based in China.
The seminar will provide a platform to exchange evidence-based insights and experiences, strengthen partnerships and support the uptake of evaluation lessons for future development cooperation.
The final concept note and agenda will be made available in due course.
