Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is an honour to be here with you today for the 10th Annual Meeting of the New Development Bank. This is a significant milestone, and I’m proud to be part of this moment as we celebrate the Bank’s journey and its growing impact on sustainable development around the world.
On behalf of the United Arab Emirates, I’d like to sincerely thank the government of Brazil for their warm welcome and hospitality as well as for hosting this meeting.
I would like to first start by acknowledging the impressive expansion of the New Development Bank. It’s a clear sign of the Bank’s increasing relevance and influence on the global stage.
It’s also fitting that this expansion comes as we mark the Bank’s tenth anniversary. Over the past decade, the NDB has made great progress, whether it’s promoting lending in local currencies, engaging the private sector, or expanding its capacity to support countries across the Global South. These efforts are making a real difference.
Since the UAE joined the BRICS last year, we’ve been strong supporters of the group’s vision and direction. We see huge potential for shared growth, and we’re committed to helping drive long-term economic prosperity for all our member countries.
So once again, my heartfelt thanks to our hosts in Brazil, and to everyone at the New Development Bank for a decade of dedicated, impactful work. The UAE is looking forward to working even more closely with the NDB as we aim for another ten years of fair and sustainable growth together.
Thank you!
