Mr. Hideharu Tanaka
Representative in Asia, Inter-American Development Bank

Mr. Hideharu Tanaka is serving for the Inter-American Development Bank as the Bank’s Representative in Asia. Before taking current assignment, he had been engaged in mainstreaming disaster risk management policy at the Bank’s headquarter as a principal advisor. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Tanaka has experienced key responsibilities including Director at Ministry of Foreign Affairs responsible for Japan’s ODA policy and implementation as well as being posted at the Embassy of Japan in India. He had also served as a Counsellor at Ministry of Finance in charge of customs cooperation including enhancement of regional connectivity. B.A. in Law (University of Tokyo), LL.M.
