The China Development Forum 2026 opened in Beijing on March 22, 2026. Hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council, the theme of this year’s meeting is ” China in Its 15th Five-Year Plan Period: Advancing High-Quality Development and Creating New Opportunities Together.”
H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, NDB President attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech at the Symposium on Macro Policies and High-quality Development. Her speech addressed the challenges posed to global development agenda by the current international environment, the development philosophy and strategic direction of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and deepening cooperation among Global South countries. She emphasised that peace, stability, and security are prerequisites for economic development and highly affirmed China’s role as a beacon for global stability and development.
President Rousseff praised China’s achievements in promoting high-quality development, the scientific nature of its 15th Five-Year Plan, and the valuable lessons it provides for other countries. She stressed that the New Development Bank will continue to support its member countries’ infrastructure development and sustainable development, making positive contributions to promoting inclusive global growth.
