The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the NDB was one of the main partners in the organisation of the XI Seminar of the Brazilian Network of Monitoring and Evaluation (RBMA), which was held from 24-26 June 2024, in the city of Belém, Brazil. The central theme of the seminar was Evaluation: how to integrate knowledge to see and act towards sustainable development”. The activities over the three days included lectures, panel discussions, short courses and the RBMA Assembly. The XI Seminar brought together high-level government officials, representatives of international organisations, experts in M&E and researchers, private sector organizations and others, representing a unique opportunity for collaboration and reflection.

The Director General of IEO delivered remarks in the inaugural session of the Seminar. In addition, IEO hosted a dedicated panel discussion on “Evaluation of Projects of Sustainable Infrastructure: advances and challenges of the BRICS”, which also featured the participation of the former Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. The Chair of the NDB Board of Directors delivered a statement at the outset of the IEO panel.
