On August 13, 2026, H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank, met with H.E. Mr. Sanjay Malhotra, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in Jaipur to discuss deepening cooperation between RBI and NDB.
Discussions covered regulatory treatment of NDB’s exposure in member countries, NDB’s ongoing work with Indian financial institutions, and the proposed issuance of NDB Maharaja Bond — a local-currency issuance to finance infrastructure in India.
India remains a priority partner for NDB, and the meeting reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting infrastructure investment and sustainable development across the country.
