The fourth IEO Lecture on Promoting Food Security, Eliminating Hunger and the Role of Evaluation was held on 11 June 2025.
Dr. Graziano da Silva, Director General of the Zero Hunger Institute (Instituto Fome Zero [IFZ]) and former Extraordinary Minister for Food Security in Brazil, and Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was the keynote speaker.
Dr. Graziano’s powerful speech laid out the state of food security, hunger and malnutrition around the world and the challenges that we have to collectively overcome to accelerate the SDGs. In addition, he underlined the unique role of NDB in the global multilateral architecture and how its investments and assistance can help BRICS countries and the Global South more generally in promoting lasting development. He also underlined how evaluation can be leveraged for better evidence-based policy making and improved programme effectiveness on the ground.
The event was attended by over 80 participants in person at NDB headquarters and online.
