More About This Project
Over the past two decades, Ganzhou’s industrial composition has expanded from traditional manufacturing sectors such as furniture and textile to new materials, electronics and new energy equipment. With rapid economic and vehicle ownership growth in recent years, Ganzhou has become one of the most congested cities in Jiangxi Province.
Connectivity among districts in the city core area, as well as accessibility of the city core area to the national transport network is critical to the city’s competitiveness. In 2021, a comprehensive development plan was set forth by the municipal government to enhance the mobility in the city core area. The proposed Project is part of the plan.
The objective of the Project is to improve connectivity and accessibility of the key industrial areas in Ganzhou and boost socioeconomic development of the city.
The Project is expected to directly benefit about 500,000 residents and 6,000 enterprises in Ganzhou.
The Project comprises: (i) Construction and reconstruction of roads, including the south section of Nankang Airport Expressway, G105 National Highway Rerouting Phase II and G357 National Highway that enhance accessibility of major industrial parks and divert vehicular traffic away from the central city; and (ii) Project management and capacity building.
