Dr. Jin Zhongxia is Director General of the International Department, the People’s Bank of China. He got his BA and MA from Peking University, and PhD in Economics from the University of Hawaii. After joining the People’s Bank of China, he held a number of positions in several departments including the International Department, the Monetary Policy Department, the Financial Research Institute, and Representative Office in Americas (New York). Before current appointment, he was Executive Director for China at the International Monetary Fund (2015-2022). His work and research covered macroeconomic management, international finance, monetary policy and international economic governance. His major recent publications include: Renminbi from Marketization to Internationalization (Routledge, 2022); Where is Globalization Heading: Restructuring Rules and Landscape of World Trade and Investment (China Financial Publishing House, 2015); China and G20: High-end Gaming in Global Economic Governance (Economic Press China, 2014).
