On March 10, 2026, H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank (NDB), met with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi. Their discussions focused on further strengthening the partnership between India and the Bank in advancing sustainable infrastructure and future-oriented development aligned with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
President Rousseff noted that India is not only a founding member of NDB but a cornerstone of the institution, as one of its largest borrowers and a key strategic shareholder, and appreciated India’s leadership within the Bank and its strong voice for the Global South.
She also congratulated the Prime Minister on the successful organisation of the AI Summit, recognising India’s growing role in shaping the global discourse on responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence.
