On March 9, 2026, H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank, visited the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), implemented by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), and took a ride on the Namo Bharat train. At Sarai Kale Khan RRTS Station, President Dilma Rousseff was welcomed by Namita Mehrotra, Director (Finance), and senior NCRTC officials, who presented the operational vision for the first RRTS corridor and plans for the wider regional network. She travelled on the NamoBharat train from Sarai Kale Khan to Anand Vihar RRTS Station, where NCRTC showcased the corridor’s integrated multi-modal connectivity with the Anand Vihar Bus Terminal, Railway Station, and Delhi Metro.
During the visit, President Dilma Rousseff interacted with train operators and station controllers—many of whom are women—gaining direct insights into the technology, operations, and passenger experience driving India’s next-generation regional mobility system.
