On January 14, 2026, the New Development Bank (NDB) held a knowledge event on China’s Five -Year Plan and growth outlook at the NDB Headquarters in Shanghai, China.
Dr. Long Guoqiang, Vice President and Senior Research Fellow of the Development Research Centre of the State Council (DRC) of China, delivered a lecture themed “China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the Chinese Economic Outlook.” Dr. Long covered the historic evolution of China’s Five-Year Plans, their formulation process and implementation, the main objectives and strategic decisions of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and China’s mid- and long-term economic outlook.
It was highlighted during the lecture that NDB seeks to play a more important role in facilitating the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and innovative practices among its member countries and clients, particularly those from EMDCs, in line with the Bank’s General Strategy for 2022–2026.
NDB President, H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, delivered opening remarks for the event. The lecture was participated by all NDB senior management and staff.
Prior to the lecture, President Dilma Rousseff warmly welcomed Dr. Long Guoqiang and held a bilateral meeting with the DRC delegation.
